We have a fantastic opportunity for a Relationship Manager to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Charity’s relationship strategy with external organisations, primarily in the Financial Services sector. To succeed in this role, you should be an excellent communicator, a strategic thinker with an analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills.

What you will be doing

This position holds responsibility for supporting Relationship Management, Business Development and Marketing in promotional activities to create name awareness, secure and grow income streams to expand relationships with existing third parties. You will manage relationships with nominated organisations in line with the Charity’s strategic objectives and growth plans. You will play a key part in resolving issues, providing insights to partner organisations in ongoing process improvements for creditors and clients.

Where you’ll work:

This role will be home based with regular travel to Leeds and creditor sites across the UK.

What you will be doing

  • Manage relationships at all levels to ensure the charity meets its overall business goals, sector engagement plans and in particular referral volumes and income targets, to help people in crisis debt
  • To own and achieve targets with partners in the portfolio, particularly income and referral volumes
  • Maintain and increase the charity’s income stream from relationships
  • Pro-actively identify, escalate and support the initiation of new business opportunities from our existing relationships
  • Understand creditor issues and opportunities and work with Partnership Development to engage and solve these; in doing so increase the productivity and efficiency of our services for the mutual benefit of both third parties and the charity
  • Develop and maintain detailed partner engagement plans, which specify the purpose, detail and outcomes of activity, as well as capturing contact details
  • Effective and consistent communication of key topics from within the creditor engagement plan
  • Support Business Development to successfully transition new initiatives to Relationship Management when they become business as usual
  • Promote, implement and project manage new services and charity updates with third parties

What you’ll bring

  • degree/graduate qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • an understanding of the credit industry/debt management and insolvency sector, particularly its collections and bad debt processes and creditor risk models
  • an understanding of the not-for-profit sector and the on-going challenges facing the third sector in delivering services to people
  • an understanding of the financial services sector
  • understanding of the regulatory regime of consumer credit in UK
  • stakeholder management and relationship management skills
  • ability to deal with change and respond effectively to new and changing initiatives
  • problem solving and negotiation skills at all levels
  • the ability to influence and steer third party relationship decision making
  • the ability to plan, organise and manage relationships with third parties

 Salary: Up to £50,000
